Baramati Police Project - Juvenile delinquents

Project Goal - To work with, test and counsel 60 juvenile delinquent children in care of Baramati police station and areas nearby.

This project comprised of-

Taking a detailed history, followed by psychometric evaluation of each child depending on the presenting issue and problem.
Follow up Counselling catered to the requirement of each child
Assistance with rehabilitation into society

Our approach with counselling in this institution -

To understand and help each individual child understand his misdemeanor or major issue with the law and understand the circumstances which led to it

To understand and help each individual child understand his misdemeanor or major issue with the law and understand the circumstances which led to it
We understand the "back story" and its contributions which would have led to the situation and endeavour to help the child understand it as well.
To understand the veracity of the truth or otherwise of the situation
To identify social or cultural factors which encouraged such behaviors
To develop an understanding about rural lifestyle issues which could be contributory
To help the child deal with psychological trauma as a result of the brush with the law and minimize damage of such trauma through our interventions and supportive counselling
To address their difficulties and issues which could impact their future
Improve their family relationships
Improve the children's motivation towards positive role models, adopting positive behaviours and learning to cope
Minimize repetition of such incidents or behaviours
